My ultimate goal was to run in 1:30 but this was a much tougher course than Lincoln was. I still shaved off nearly 6 minutes off of my time in Lincoln. I'm happy with my performance. This will be my last post to this blog. I am now searching for my next race.....Until the next time..

Nearing the finish line!
Distance: 6.44 miles
Time: 48 minutes 16 seconds

It was hot on the run, and I ran at an easy pace. But still I was able to put up a pretty good time. With the exception of Saturdays 20 minute run, this was my last workout before the race on Sunday. Tomorrow I plan to cross train for about 45 minutest but then will take it easy the rest of the night. Saturday I have the 20 minute run and that's it...I plan to rest as much as possible on Saturday and carb up! I'll be eating a lot of pasta :)

Morning run!

I had to run this morning due to last night thunderstorms. It was nice and cool this morning and I took advantage of it with a good effort. I plan to run tomorrow moning as well; however, I had to work until 7 tonight so I'm not sure if I'll be up to it. If not, I'll run tomorrow after work. Either way I will put my mileage in. It will be my last significant run before Omaha. All I have after tomorrow is a 20 minute run on Saturday. After my run on Saturday, I will do nothing but rest and get as much sleep as possible.(I'll also eat a lot of spaghetti)

Hot on Monday!

It was hot on the run tonight, but i hung in there and ran well. My time was better than expected and I felt strong throughout. I ran using my Old Market route and there wasn't much traffic which is usually the case on a Monday night. I run 48 again tomorrow and then have Wednesday night off. I'll probably still do some sort of cross-training though.

Ran well again using my downtown route. This route is the hilliest, so I've been using it a little more to get ready for Omaha. My time was once again really good without pushing myself too hard. The weather is perfect for running and I'm definitely hitting my stride. Tomorrow will be my last speed workout before Omaha....Can I hit sub 7's tomorrow?

I had a good run tonight using my downtown course. There was some traffic but it didn't seem to affect my time. I was actually surprised that I was able to finish so quickly without really pushing very hard. Tomorrow I have a short 40-45 minute run which I will run very easy. I feel like I may be peaking right now, so I may cut back some miles towards the end of the week.

Did good in my Fartlek workout tonight. I made the time I set out for and felt good on the run tonight. I used my riverfront course tonight and there weren't many runners out on the trail. Tomorrow I'll run 65-75 minutes...not sure how much yet. It's kind of up to me at this point because we are tapering off a bit this week if I so choose. The weather was near perfect! The temp was about 60 degrees....very fall like! I ran easy but still wound up with a good time using my Old Market route. It was so nice that I felt like I could've ran forever! I may well be peaking at the right time! Tomorrow I do a 55 minute "fartlek" workout...it is supposed to be nice again tomorrow. The Cowboys ended up winning last night 45-35!!!!!

Another 13 plus!

I ran well on the run today! I'm happy with the time and the fact that I didn't get tired at all on the run. As opposed to last week, I went up 10th st one more time then last. Basically, that means I ran a tougher course due to the hill going up 10th. I have one more big run next Saturday before the race and that is it! Training is almost over. Tomorrow I plan to run 45 minutes hard and then 20 minutes easy later in the day. Nu squeaked out a win over Wake Forest...20-17!

I ran well considering my legs were jelly at the start. I cut my run short a bit so I can wake up early and do 13 miles before going to work. The high on Sunday is only going to be 67, so I will do a 45 minute speed workout and a 20 minute easy run then to make up for time missed tonight. I got out so late, my thought was to cut it short so I can hit the hay early tonight. I'll be in bed shortly! Go Big Red!

Struggle!

I'm happy I was able to go the entire 10 miles, but my time was not good at all! I struggled during the whole run due to the heat this evening. I was supposed to run this morning but was unable to get motivated this morning. Hopefull I will feel better tomorrow morning. It's hard running in the humidity! That is for sure.

1/2 marathon plus!

I ran more than the half marathon distance and did rather well. I got fatigued halfway through and wondered if I would make the distance. The second half, I seemed to get my wind and that carried me the rest of the way. I'm very happy with the time and effort.
After my run, I then headed to Lincoln to see the Huskers beat up on Nevada....52-10 was the final. They looked good! There were many upsets today, but the mighty Huskers avoided such a thing.
